Penny’s expertise are in the are of:
- TMJ and craniomandibular pain
- Dance injuries and pre pointe assessment
- Posture Assessment
- Biomechanical Assessment
- Specific stability and exercise prescription
- Pre and postnatal management of pelvic stability and recovery.
Penny graduated from the University of Sydney in 1993. She went on to complete a Masters degree of Health Science in Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2006.
She began her career at St Vincents Hospital and gained extensive experience in many areas of Physiotherapy. She had the opportunity to spend a rotation at Broken Hill Base hospital. While there, she saw the amazing work being done by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Penny’s particular interest is in movement analysis, postural assessment and biomechanics. She spent time working on campus at Sydney University with a wide variety of teams and with every type of person; from the executives, to sendentary researchers, to the novice sports person, to the elite athlete. She left Sydney Uni ready for anything!
From there Penny progressed to the Physio Posture Fitness Clinic, a world class multidisciplinary center, working closely for the next 20 years with physiotherapist and lecturer Francine St George of Physio Posture Fitness and author of The Back Pain Handbook
During this time, with her own background in dance, Penny has become adept at working with hypermobility. She also has a special interest in the TMJ (Jaw), having studied this area in her Masters, she aslo worked with the Dentistry Personal Trainers at the University of Sydney.
Penny combines her clinical practice with lecturing nationally and internationally. She designs and presents CEC accredited programs for Health Professionals, Pilates Instructors and personal traingers. She is also a presenter with the Physio Coaching Academy Australia and Australian Leaning Group (NSW School of Massage), where her massage subjects run nationally.
